Mr. Ashish Rakheja is Partner at AEON Consultants and has a post graduate degree in Thermal Engineering with over thirty years of work experience. He is a seasoned Consulting Engineer who has designed over 4000 projects including Hotels, Airports, Data Centre, Hospitals, Retail, Residential, Commercial, High rises and Industrial projects. Mr Rakheja specializes in high-performance buildings and has been actively involved in leading design activities of electro-mechanical services for eleven Net Zero Energy Buildings, two Net Zero Water Townships and over hundred Platinum rated green projects in India. He is spearheading the green building movement in country since 2001 and currently serves as Chairman, Technical Committee at Indian Green Building Council (IGBC). Mr Rakheja is a Presidential member of ISHRAE (Indian Society of Heating, Refrigerating & Air conditioning Engineers) and first Indian to serve on ASHRAE global Board as Vice President (2022-24) including serving for five years on its Board and recently nominated as Treasurer.
Mr Rakheja has won many awards and delivered over 2500 talks on various facets of building design across the world. He is an active member of over 20 Technical societies and regularly contributes his time on writingStandards, Codes & position papers for Government bodies & Technical societies. Mr Rakheja has been recently tasked by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE, Govt of India) to chair the working group for creating EnergyConservation & Sustainability Building Code and also by the Bureau of Indian Standard (BIS) to lead the committee for revision of HVAC Section for National Building Code of India 2025. He is also involved in imparting training to budding Architects & Engineers in the field of Building Services and a visiting faculty at leading schools in India.Mr. Ashish Rakheja is Managing Partner at AEON Consultants which he founded along with a team of dynamic sustainability experts and engineers with a vision to pursue Integrated approach to design by moving away from age old practices and combine tradition wisdom with technology.
